N2 - With the development of economy, China water utilities evolve from having the single mission of meeting consumers' basic water requirement to supplying high quality water and ensuring water security. This paper presents the case study of building water distribution network digital analysis platform of H city in northeast China. A self-adapting water network model that adapts to water distribution network topology changes at a certain extent is built by the platform which is based on the water distribution network microscopic model, makes full use of the theories of mathematical programming, neurotic network, genetic algorithm, modern control, and geographic information system, and realizes multi-scenario analysis, optimization scheduling, optimization rehabilitation and expansion, and old and new water sources switching. With the platform, the old water source and the new one have been switched successfully and stable. It also ensures water distribution network optimal operation. Experience shows that water distribution network can effectively solves present problems of water utility and achieves good social and economic benefits.
