Abstract

The sidelobe suppression is an important topic in the pulse compression technique. We study the sidelobe suppression for the pulse compression of the chirp signal, and analyze the spectrum weighting and the impulse response weighting method. For the two methods, we discuss the Fresnel spectrum smoothing effect, the pulse compression performance and the quantization effect of the digital pulse compression by using the computer simulations. Some of the useful conclusions are drawn.
