Abstract

In this paper, we consider the average symbol error probability (SEP) performance of a hybrid satellite-terrestrial relay network with non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) and decode-and-forward (DF) protocol. In particular, we derived the closed-form expression of the average SEP for both far-user and near-user in a satellite-to-terrestrial channel. Numerical results are presented to prove the correctness of the derived formulas and illustrate the effect of some pivotal factors on the average SEP of the considered system.
