Abstract

Based on the means of isothermal compressive experiment and metallographical microscope, the rheological behavior of SiCp/2024 composites is investigated. The results show that the flow stress of SiCp/2024 composites falls down quickly with the increasing experimental temperature. When holding time is relatively short, the compressive stress of the composites is less than unreinforced matrix alloy. SiCp/2024 composites have the character of pseudoplastic fluid in semi-solid state.
