Abstract
Zr:Fe:LiNbO3 crystals were grown, and their IR spectra, photorefractive resistance threshold value and holographic storage properties were measured. The photorefractive resistance threshold value of 6% r(Zr):Fe:LiNbO3 crystal being one orders magnitude higher than that of Fe:LiNbO3 crystal was found and the OH-vibrational peak corresponding to which shifted from 3483 cm-1 to 3488 cm-1. The maximum diffraction efficiency weakly decreased, however, the writing and erasure time constants and photorefractive sensitivity were improved. In particular, the dynamic range of 2% r(Zr):Fe:LiNbO3 crystal was 2.5 times higher than Fe:LiNbO3 crystal. Based on the media of 2% r(Zr):Fe:LiNbO3 crystal, the holographic storage ability of 1000 disc pictures was shown.
