Abstract

A simulation model was developed to study the static characteristic of a regulator valve with large flow capacity. The regulator valve couples motion of double poppet valves with the shaft. Then a detailed theoretical model is carried out to explain working principle of the valve. And the simulation model is conducted based on that theoretical model. While simulating the established model, the damping effect B and elastic effect K of poppet rubber seal are taken into consideration specifically. Meanwhile, the influences of poppet rubber seals and valve springs on static characteristic are discussed. This provides a novel method to model a regulator valve considering the effects of poppet rubber seals on the performance of the valve.
