Abstract
The main steps of using the numeric prototype system to design internal combustion engine were discussed. The structure definition and parameters transferring and controlling method were defined according to top-down design technology. Parametric technology based on feature was studied to create and control parametric modeling of internal combustion engine components. By designing some components, how the numeric prototype system can design internal combustion engine components very quickly was shown. The system can shorten the development period of internal combustion engine and part, and improve reaction ability and new product development ability.
