Abstract

Fatigue testing system for polyester cord/rubber composites was established. The fatigue properties of unidirectional polyester cord/rubber composites under cyclic loading were assessed and the fatigue-life prediction equation was given. The effects of strain, frequency and temperature on damage accumulation process were examined. The results indicated that the fatigue life-time and damage accumulation of the rubber composites are strongly influenced by cyclic frequency because of hysteretic loss. For evaluating the fatigue behavior of tires and predicting the fatigue lifetime of tires, a method was offered.
