Abstract

The extrusion process of Mg-10Gd-8Y-1.5Nd-0.5Zr is studied, and the results show that the appropriate deformation temperature range of the alloy becomes narrow with the adding of rare earth elements. The deformation temperature of the alloy has an important effect on the extrusion process of the alloy compared to that of the extrusion ratio. The appropriate deformation temperature of the alloy lies between 310~330°C.
