Abstract

The diffuse band originated from K2 21Σu+-x1Σg+ transition was theoretically calculated based on the quantum theory using the program Boundfree of Herman and Sando, and compared with the results of Luh's, Milosevic's and Gondal's experiments. The results of the calculation are coincident with the experiments by Luh and Milosevic. It is verified that the continuum fluorescence around 570nm is coming from this transition, and the interpretation that the diffuse band around 600nm from the transition can be rejected.
