Abstract
In order to reveal the features of the combustion process, a fixed-bed reactor was employed to burn simulated municipal solid waste (MSW). The effect of the primary-air temperature was assessed over ranges. The temperature of different positions inside the bed, the gas species concentration of flue gas and the changing of bed weight were measured and presented. Other parameters, such as mass of waste and height of material versus time and burning rate, were also investigated and calculated from the experiment data. Through this experimental investigation, the combustion process of simulated MSW in bed can be better understood. The experiment results provide dependable data for design and optimization of the incinerator of MSW.
