Abstract

Aiming at the want of combustion stability of a certain plant's 1.025 t/h boiler, which is equipped with EI-DRB type combustors, the construction of a biased combustion swirling pulverized coal burner has been developed on the basis of biased combustion burners. After the bottom row burners of boiler No. 1 had been exchanged for biased combustion swirling pulverized coal burners, the boiler's problem of unstable combustion was solved. But during a minor overhaul of boiler No. 1, it was found that the central blunt body of the new burner had been seriously abraded, but without having had affected operation. On the basis of biased combustion swirling pulverized coal burners, a centrally fed swirling pulverized coal burner was then proposed, which eventually solved the problem of the blunt body's abrasion. The unstable combustion problem of boiler No. 2 was also solved after centrally fed swirling pulverized coal burners were mounted in the boiler's bottom row; NOx emission was somewhat reduced simultaneously.
