title = "Study of the adsorption and oxidation of phenol at the poly-tropism platinum electrode",
abstract = "Cyclic voltammetric (CV), Tafel curve and Electrochemical impedance spectra were applied to investigate phenol electrochemical oxidation process on the poly-tropism platinum electrode. It was determined that the electrochemical oxidation of phenol on platinum electrode was irreversible process and the position of oxidation peak lies at 0.926V(vs.Ag/AgCl) at the scanning rate of 50mV·s-1. The relationship between the oxidation peak current of phenol and the scanning rate was also got and it could be concluded that the phenol oxidation process was controlled by both of the diffusion and adsorption step. In the sulfuric acid system, the Tafel curve of platinum electrode was obtained and the results might indicate that single electron transfer on the process of phenol electrochemical reaction on the platinum might be the dominated step. Electrochemical impedance spectra showed a semicircle of capacitor resistance due to the phenol adsorption in high frequency. Copyright The Electrochemical Society.",
