Abstract

A kind of photoelectric tool presetter was investigated, whose aiming system samplings the image of the edge of the measured work piece by CCD. The constitution, calibration of the system, the acquisition and the processing of image were introduced, and a series of experimental findings were presented at the end. The system measured the tool angle, corner radius and cutting edge of tools, against the tool wear of numerical control machine and machining center. The detection accuracy and working accuracy of numerical control machine can be improved by application of the system, the management of tools turned convenient as well. Experimental result shows that the cutting point collimate accuracy of the system is better than ±1 μm.
