Study of identification temperature of electric submersible motor based on network thermodynamic modelling

Abstract

Considering urgent demand for monitoring the temperature and disadvantage of classical method for measuring electric submersible motor (ESM) with long cable, the thermodynamic modeling method was applied to indentify temperature of ESM in this paper. The topology of ESM was derived and thermodynamic equations that describe the change trend of temperature of ESM were given by proposed method. The analysis solutions of identification temperature of the stator and rotor of ESM were obtained by the mechanized mathematics and numerical iteration method. Experiment results of 12 kW ESM show that, the maximum error of identification temperature of ESM is 5.59°C that can satisfy actual request of oil well. The correctness and feasibility of proposed method are validated by obtained results.
