Abstract
The diffuse band emission of the transition was experimentally studied with single photon excitation by a dye laser. The fluorescence of the transition diffuse band was observed around 575nm and a gain coefficient of 1.2%cm had been measured. The relations between gain and temperature as well as pressure of buffering gas was discussed. The results show that lowering temperature, optimizing pressure of buffering gas and increasing pumping rate are beneficial to obtain large gain.
