Abstract

Contact-less electrical energy transmission over a large air gap becomes more and more attractive for different applications. In this paper, the influence of geometrical and electrical parameters on energy transmission of contactless magnetic assemblies with air gaps of several centimeters is investigated. The investigations are carried out by means of flux simulation and analysis. The efficiency of contactless electrical transmission systems is mainly influenced by the transmission frequency. Magnetic dynamic coupling model with primary and secondary compensation is established as a function of transmission frequency and the maximum transmission efficiency is attained. The transmission characteristics of the designed E-E detachable transformer are significantly enhanced.
