Abstract

Photorefractive field properties of MnO doped near stoichiometric LiNbO3 crystals were studied. The crystals have been grown by the top seeded solution growth method by adding K2O flux to Li 2O-Nb2O5 melt. Their IR spectra and domain structures showed that the crystals were near stoichiometric. From the results of the two-wave coupling experiments of the crystals, the effective charge density Neff, the maximum saturation field Eq, the photovoltaic field Eph, the diffusion field Ed, and the space charge field Esc were calculated by iterative method.
