Abstract

A 9-storey Benchmark model was established by SAP2000; the alternate path method was adopted to analyse the structural dynamic performance after column failure, and also the effects of failure time and column failure location on structural internal force and deformation. The analysis results show that the shorter the column failure time is, the larger the joint displacement is, and the greater the dynamic amplification factor corresponding to the static analysis is. Besides, the nonlinear dynamic analysis method was used to study the transmission path of dynamic load in the structure after column failure, to obtain the development law of structure internal force and deformation.
