Abstract

The stress relaxation behavior of BT14 alloy with equiaxed grain were investigated at 200, 400 and 600°C. The mechanism of stress relaxation was discussed by observation of microstructure evolution during stress relaxation. The results show that dislocations move during stress relaxation deformation at 200°C, and dislocation slip bands are observed at 400°C, implying micro-zone plastic deformation resulted from dislocation slip is the micro-mechanism of stress relaxation. Sub-grain boundary and dislocation nets founded during stress relaxation deformation at 600°C presents that recovery creep is the main stress relaxation mechanism.
