Abstract

The consequences of serious harmfulness and life and property loss caused by Wenchuan earthquake leave us all speechless from shock, which forces us to think why towns are frangible before earthquake and what enlightenments we should get from the disaster! Urban space, as the substance carrier of disasters, affects the comprehensive disaster prevention and reduction ability directly. This paper presents a construction of urban disaster prevention space system according to the reconstruction after earthquake, provides corresponding strategies of urban planning for disaster-prevention space and disaster-avoidance space, and provides theory and strategy reference to urban planning and urban design.
