Abstract

This paper analyzed the high-rise frame-tube structure with strengthened stories and proposed a strain energy calculating method of top-strengthened structure under lateral load. Considering the contribution of the floor beam, the frame-tube structure with strengthened stories was simplified into continuous medium along the height by using continuum theory, taking the shear strain energy of strengthened girders, core wall, floor beams and columns into account. Finally, the analytic expression of the strain energy of this structure was obtained in terms of the height. The conclusion provided much convenience to deduce the sideway and get the internal forces of such a structure under lateral loads.
