Abstract

Recently the stability analysis of reticulated shells have been conducted broadly. But few researchers focus on the effect of roofing system. In the practical engineering, the reticulated shell and roofing system bear the load together. So it is wasteful and may even cause potential safety troubles if the roofing system is not considered during the design. In the paper, the research of the influence of the roofing system to the stability of reticulated shell was reported. The influence of different parameters on the static stability analysis of reticulated shell was studied, including the span, the rise to span ratio, and the cross section. In addition, the rotational stiffness of semi-rigid joints between the purlin and purlin hanger was analyzed. The consideration of semi-rigid joints made the analytical model more consistent with the practical situation.
