Abstract

In order to compensate initial error of position encoder used for ac excited DFIG (Doubly Fed Induction Generator), a controller was proposed based on the steady state relationship between rotor currents and stator voltages with open stator windings, which is derived according to the mathematical model of DFIG in the synchronous frame. The compensation principle was analyzed. A stagewise control strategy for grid connection was proposed by applying the compensate controller to DFIG wind power generation system. The overall controller was designed and implemented on the experimental platform. The results confirm the validity of the control strategy proposed.
