Abstract
The unit-cell geometry model (FGM) is utilized to calculate the mechanical parameters of the braided composites which are taken as input parameters to establish the finite element model. And then, this model is used to study the stability of the 4-directional 3-dimensional braided composite stiffened shells. The influences of the braiding parameters on the stability of the stiffened shells are investigated. It is found that the stability of the stiffened shells can be improved by choosing appropriate braiding parameters.
