Abstract
Among numerous smart materials, shape memory polyimide (SMPI) is a polymer material with excellent intelligence. Like common polyimides, SMPIs are electrically insulated, which limits their applications. Electrically driven shape memory polyimide is usually composed of thermally driven SMP combined with conductive material, using electric field to heat the material, so that the material is heat stimulated and restore the shape. Smart, deformable, and transparent electrodes are a significant part of flexible optoelectronic devices. In addition to polyimide film, polyimide foam plays an important supporting role in the development of national economy and industry due to its many excellent properties. The polymer foams are ideal candidates for applications in the fields of thermal management, flexible sensors, electromagnetic interference shielding due to their three-dimensional pore structure, high porosity, and light weight. With the mechanical properties of the polyimide foam, researchers can produce sensors derived from polyimide composites.
