Slagging in coal-fired 1025 t/h boiler with the swirl coal combustion technology

Research output: Contribution to journalArticlepeer-review

Abstract

The cold and hot reacting flow measurement was performed in low-grade-coal-fired 1025 t/h boiler with enhanced ignition-dual register (EI-DR) burners to solve the slagging problem of furnace. The resslts show that slagging occurs in the burners region of the boiler with EI-DR burners; in full load the slagging is more frequent than in low load, but in low load that slagging ash blocks fall more frequently than in full load. In the burners region the temperature in the front was were higher than that in the rear wall. Both EI-DR burner and central-fuel-rich swirl coal combustion burner can achieve a moderate central recirculation zone and divergent angle of the air jet. The slagging can be avoided in the boiler of which 8 EI-DR burners at the bottom row were retrofitted to the central-fuel-rich swirl coal combustion burners.
