Abstract

A new technique for measuring the target with six DOF and a holographic lens as splitter and He-Ne laser beam as measurement datum lines. The linear displacements and angle displacements could be separated easily by holographic lens, and the angle displacements were independent from linear displacement. In the system, 4 planar position sensitive detectors (PSD) were used to measure beam displacements. On CVI platform, VXI bus was used to collect the measurement datum and fulfill resetting operation by 6 three-phase AC asynchronous motors. The results of some cell experiments proved that the system could meet the needs of the present calibration task of the balance. Through further improvement, the system could be also used to collimate other devices with multi DOF and measure the minute shifts, such as the guide rail of machine tool and the assembling of large parts and so on.
