Abstract

A dynamic performance model was made for different driving cycles of an electric vehicle. The analysis and calculation of torque and power needed on the driving axles are presented using the simulation tools developed in Matlab/Simulink environment. It is concluded that the slope climbing capability of an electric vehicle is the main factor influencing other parameters of an electric vehicle, and the higher the acceleration, the more the torque needed by vehicle. Acceleration and speed together determine the power.
