Abstract

According to the problem of high density crowd, a crowd motion simulation and an evacuation optimization method were proposed. Based on the social force model of crowd motion, three limitations were overcome. First, the conspicuous change of individual velocity vector when crash happens between individual, is limited by the velocity restraint. Second, the effect coming from the objects beyond the individual field of view is removed by the field of view restraint. Third, the individual excessive deformation in the crowd simulation is restraint by deformation restraint. The evacuation process was simulated from the fields of crowd motion, supervision system and high density situation. The evacuation guidance was given on the basis of crowd distribution and state. The experimental results show that, by the proposed method, the exit using ratio of building is increased, meanwhile, the evacuation time and the degree of crowdedness are decreased. Thereby, the risk probability is reduced.
