Simulation and optimization design of tower structure of wind generating set

Abstract

Tower structure of the wind generating set is an important load-bearing parts, its design will directly affect the work of wind generating set performance and its reliability. In this paper, the design of tower structure of 180KW wind generating set was analyzed. Effects of different wind loads and structural parameters on the tower structural strength were investigated through finite element simulation. The results show that: (1) Equivalent effective stress is decreased with the increasing of cone-tube wall thickness. At the same time, total displacement is also decreased. (2) Effects of taper on equivalent stress and total displacement are complex. There has a extreme point of equivalent effective stress when taper is 0.825 degree. (3) The optimization design of tower structure should be analyzed using the mass formula. The optimization size of tower structure is related to taper. Through the wind load stress simulation analysis of the tower structure, it can provide a theoretical basis to the optimization design of tower structure.
