Simulation and Analysis of the Influence on Radiation of Loading Dielectric on Slot Antenna

Abstract

In order to increase the gain of the slot antenna, the electric field distribution of the slot is studied. The simulation analysis of the substrate integrated waveguide port and the electric field distribution of the substrate integrated waveguide slot antenna are similar, and are both cosine distributions. Therefore, the gain of the two can be increased by loading the sheet-type dielectric lens. Two kinds of antenna models of slot-loading sheet-type dielectric lens are designed by simulation, and the gains are respectively increased by 5.8 dB and 2.4 dB compared with the slot without loading dielectric. This conclusion can be applied to improve the gain of slot antennas.
