Abstract
An improved control and guidance system for supercavitating vehicles was designed. Simplified equations for longitudinal motion of supercavitating vehicles were derived and corresponding software for simulating the trajectory of supercavitating vehicles was written using the typical trajectory characteristics of supercavitating vehicles that travel at a speed of around 90 m/s. The theory predicts that the path of a supercavitating vehicle, whether at a fixed or changing depth, changing direction, and so on, can be managed using typical steering controls on the mine roof rudder in the absence of feedback control. This proves that the maneuverability of supercavitating vehicles is good.
