Abstract

In order to achieve knowledge reuse and sharing among different ontologies in ontology application, it was necessary to integrate ontologies or establish ontologies mapping. Therefore, the similarity computation for ontology was one of the critical problems. Based on analysis on current similarity calculation technologies and ontology characteristics and roles of manufacturing resources, a new similarity calculation model for the manufacturing resource ontology was proposed. Both the grammar-based similarity calculation method and the property-based similarity calculation approach were considered in this model aiming at characteristics and functions of manufacturing resource ontology. On the premise of guaranteeing accurate computation results, calculation process was simplified and computational efficiency was improved. Finally, an example of two manufacturing resource ontologies was used to validate this similarity calculation model.
