Abstract

The time-varying multipath characteristics of the UWA channel will cause signal fading, fading phenomenon is mainly the result of the multipath component of the phase time change, fading will seriously affect the reliable reception of the communication system, diversity technology is an effective anti-fading technology. For high-speed UWAC, the inter-code interference introduced by multipath propagation is the main problem affecting system performance, adaptive equalization technology is commonly used in communication systems, an effective method to offset inter-code interference. Due to the acoustic scattering from the undulating sea surface and the relative motion between the transmitter and receiver, Doppler shift occurs in the received signal, which must be estimated and compensated before joint synchronization and equalization in order to reduce the impact of Doppler shift on signal detection. This chapter will introduce the digital signal processing techniques commonly used in UWAC systems, including diversity, channel equalization, and Doppler estimation and compensation.
