Abstract

To meet different structural demands, the static mechanical characteristics of the steel-plate shear wall with slits (SPSWS) with the limitation of out-of-plane buckling were analyzed using ANSYS. The influences of width b between each slit on the shear behaviour of SPSWS were investigated. It indicates that in the case of limiting the out-of-plane buckling, the stubs between slits behave similarly, and two mechanical modes exist with the variation of height-width ratio α of the stubs; slits arrangement influences the action situations of the adjacent frame to the steel componert in SPSWS; the initial shear stiffness and the load-bearing capacity of SPSWS can be changed simultaneously by adjusting the silts setting, however this effect is coupled and difficult to be separated.
