title = "Shear hydro-bending of light alloy tubes",
abstract = "A shear hydro-bending process was proposed to solve the difficulties in forming aluminum alloy tubes with small bending radius, which can not be Integrally manufactured by using the conventional bending methods. Experimental research was conducted on defects, thickness distribution and microstructure during shear bending process. Effect of the Internal pressures and feeding ratios were comprehensively Investigated. It can be concluded that the shear hydro-bending Is suitable to form aluminum alloy tubes with small bending radius by controlling the relationship of the pressure, the axial feeding and the transverse feeding. There is a reasonable window of the Internal pressure and the feeding ratio, In which the tube can be successfully formed without defects. The elbow tube can be divided into the sealing zone, the first corner zone, the shearing zone, the second comer zone and the holding zone. The thickness of the lower side Is different from that of the upper side along the axial direction. The microstructure of each zone varies in the axial and circumferential direction. There Is a great effect of the Internal pressure on grain size In corner zones.",
