Service architecture: High level descriptions of service system

Service system is an essential infrastructure for supporting the execution of service business, and design a service system should first consider its high-level architecture for better quality and performance. In this paper, based on the analysis of similarities between software and service systems, new concept service architecture is presented, which is adopted to describe a service system in high level. Basic constituents of service architecture (including service elements and their connectors) are discussed, then some considerations on designing service architecture (e.g., information flow, control flow, etc) are briefly put forward. Based on summarizations of some practical service systems, several typical service architectural styles are investigated. Finally are some future works about service architecture.
