Sensorless control of synchronous reluctance motors

Research output: Chapter in Book/Report/Conference proceedingConference contributionpeer-review

Abstract

A new sensorless control method for synchronous reluctance motor(SynRM) is proposed. The speed and rotor position estimation are based on the stator voltage equation. The speed is estimated using the stator voltage and current. The rotor position is obtained by the speed integral. The proposed method can only work in medium and high speed region, because the voltage amplitude is too small in low speed region. Experimental results in both motoring and generating operation are provided. The proposed sensorless control system is shown effective by experiments.
