N2 - In power electrical control systems, pulse width modulation (PWM) technique is always used. Nevertheless, it perhaps result in some unwanted effects, such as high insulation stresses, bearing currents and unexpected loss, etc. Therefore, in some industrial applications, LC filter is equipped on the output of the inverter to deal with side effects of PWM waves. It is noticed that the mathematical model of LC filter is not considered in conventional speed sensorless control methods of PMSM. If sensorless control of PMSM with LC filter is required, estimation methods considering the filter are necessary. In this paper, a sensorless control method is proposed for PMSM equipped with LC filter. An extended state observer (ESO) considering LC filter is proposed to estimate the back electromotive forces (BEMFs), and a phase locked loop (PLL) is utilized to estimate the electrical speed and rotor position. The effectiveness is demonstrated by simulation and experimental results.
