Abstract
In order to increase the seismic behavior of vertical steel storage tank, hydraulic damper system (HDS) is adopted to control seismic response of storage tank. Mechanics model of storage tank with HDS and controlled objects were set up. Affection law of the control parameters in HDS to dynamic performance and seismic response of the storage tank was discussed by time history analysis. Results show that the damping ratio is advanced with the increment of α (inter sectional area ratio of hydraulic cylinder to pipeline) and c0 (damper coefficient of liquid), which is reduced with the increment of k0 (stiffness coefficient of liquid). Circular frequency ratio is decreased with the increment of α, which is up with the increment of k0. The change of c0 cannot affect circular frequency ratio. With the increase of parameters α, k0, c0, the peak value of displacement and absolute acceleration are diminished with the control and the seismic response of tank is reduced effectively; the effect of c0 is better than others. The control effect of HDS on displacement and capsizing moment of liquid-solid coupling particle is good, it can reduce 50%. Storage tank can be seismic designed by reducing one degree of intensity.
