Abstract

Based on the equivalent random static earthquake action model, the weakest failure mode method and the Chinese Code of Building Aseismic Design, seismic reliability analysis methods are presented for structural members and systems under minor and severe earthquakes. Seismic reliability target values of structural members are then recalibrated and an optimum decision method presented for the determination of seismic reliability target values. Finally, the optimum design formulations of aseismic structures are presented by taking account of member and system reliability constraints. -from English summary
