Abstract

The influence of earthquake environment is not considered during classifying importance of building structures in China. In this paper, the whole range of China is classified as three zones with different seismic hazard characters by the method of seismic hazard analysis. At the same time, the service period of buildings is recommended to demarcate importance of buildings. Then, according to the seismic hazard curve formulas of various ground motion parameters, the ground motion parameters at the three design levels of the buildings with different importance are analyzed in consideration of various seismic hazard characteristics of the region where buildings located. The research indicates that this method can correctly reflect importance of the buildings.
