Abstract

Due to a series of problems at test spots of underground water pipe network, such as unavailable power source, severe environment, hard to detect and record on-line pressure and flow data of pipe network and so on, a low-power-consumption on-line detector powered by inner lithium battery was produced, which takes microprocessor ADμC812 as its core, and can provide time-sharing power supply and can collect data from pressure and flow sensors up to 256 k. The detector could communicate with center computer through serial ports or wirelessly way using exploited special software of center computer. The detector sealed can also be used under the water and in moist environment for 4 years. It solved the problems of on-line detection of dispersed pressure and flow of pipe network, and meanwhile it provided historical and real-time data for optimal scheme and centralized-control. Additionally, the detector has the merits of low-investment and convenience, which has shown a good performance in application.
