Abstract

For extra-atmospheric non-spinning mass moment spacecraft, a scheme with two actuators is presented to reduce cost and weight of spacecrafts, in which the rotating actuator is used instead of linear actuator to realize the attitude regulation of spacecrafts. According to the momentum theorem, a dynamical model of spacecrafts is established. The attitude maneuver capability of mass moment spacecraft is compared between the two actuators, which shows that the rotating actuator can improve attitude maneuver capability without thruster. Finally, the attitude control problem is analyzed, which can act as a foundation for attitude control design next.
