Abstract

A scalable mode (de)multiplexer is proposed using tilt waveguide junctions with shallow-etched slots. The designed four-mode (de)multiplexer with a 50×2 μm2 footprint has <0.7 dB insertion loss and < -17.7 dB crosstalk at 1550 nm.
