Room-temperature magnetocapacitance in Fe-doped K 0.5Na 0.5Nb 0.95Ta 0.05O 3 ceramics

Abstract

Ferroelectric and magnetic properties of Fe-doped potassium-sodium tantalate niobate (K 0.5Na 0.5(Nb 0.95Ta 0.05) 1-xFe xO 3-x; x = 0 and 0.01) ceramics prepared by the conventional sintering method were investigated. In comparison with pure ceramics, the 0.01 Fe-doped ceramics show magnetic and ferroelectric properties simultaneously at room temperature. The relative dielectric constant significantly decreases after applying a magnetic field for the Fe-doped ceramics, indicating the coupling between ferroelectric and ferromagnetic orders. Magnetocapacitance of -0:77% was observed at room temperature and 50 kHz by the application of a magnetic field of 5000 Oe.
