Abstract

An adaptive space-time RAKE receiver for WCDMA Uplink is proposed. Two matched filters with the time reverse of the spreading waveform as impulse response are designed. RLS algorithm with two forgetting factors is employed for updating beamforming weight vectors for each multipath of the desired signal. Maximum ratio combining (MRC) is used to combine each multipath signal for determination. The scheme proposed can reduce the computational complexity remarkably and thus lead to fast convergence. The simulation demonstrates that the scheme has the ability of suppressing multiuser access interference (MAI), combating near-far problems, and tracking the channel condition under fast fading environment.
