Abstract

In order to reject the spatial radio frequency interference (RFI) in the complex electromagnetism circumstance of high frequency (HF) radar, the time-varying adaptive beamforming is needed. Due to the time-varying beamforming coefficient breaks the correlation of target and sea-clutter in the whole coherent process interval (CPI), the Bragg peaks will spread after the Doppler processing. To maintain the sea-clutter response between the contiguity sub-CPI's consistent range bins, a new interference suppression method was proposed in this paper. Simulation and experimental data processing results show that the new method may greatly improve the performance of RFI suppression in HF radar.
