Abstract

The typhoon wind-field model is an important part of the typhoon hazard analysis. Based on available literatures , the parameterized wind-field models that describe the equation of motion of the air particle were reviewed and the CE wind-field model was recommended. The two ways for obtaining the two key parameters of the windfield models were discussed, and suggestion about how to treat with these two parameters for the region in south/east China Sea was provided. From the point of view of physical characteristics, the boundary layer models were reviewed and the Thompson and Cardone boundary layer model was recommended. At last, some viewpoints about development trend of typhoon wind field in engineering were presented. Although the 3-dimensional wind field model has higher accuracy in meteorology, its engineering applicability is suspicious at present time. Those models with simple scheme but sufficient accuracy are preferred for the filed simulation in typhoon wind hazard analysis.
